After grueling races at cycling-mountain bike championships of Ukraine in Uzhgorod (point-to-point and 30 and 50 km marathons), the multi-day race in Chernivtsi, our riders went to compete at the international race ŠKODA Horal MTB maratón – HORAL Tour 2016, which took place last weekend in Slovakia, the Youth and Sports Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration informs.
And the results show the high level and prospects of our athletes. They are as follows. The leader of our team, Volodymyr Kozlovsky in the marathon discipline (August 13) with the distance of 74 km lost only a split second (0:00:00.3) to a Slovak and came second. Another representative of Transcarpathia Ferenc Hutlebet finished sixth among 75 participants. Among women, Christina Konvisarova finished fourth. Also, in the cross-country race (August 14), Volodymyr finished third, Fedir – nineth, Artem Strizhak from Kyiv, who competes for the Transcarpathian club Spartak, finished eighth after the failed marathon on the first day.
