During the customs control of an "Audi A6" and personal effects of a citizen of Ukraine, who was returning from Hungary, Transcarpathian customs officers found hidden 1230 packages of coffee "Tchibo Exclusive".
The Ukrainian was crossing border at the entry to Ukraine of the customs post "Tisa" choosing the "green corridor". Thus, the citizen stated that he was not transporting any goods subject to a written declaration, customs tax payments, prohibitions or restrictions on the importation into Ukraine, and confirmed this during oral survey.
However, to verify the statements of the Ukrainian, customs officials started checking and found undeclared 1,230 packages of coffee "Tchibo Exclusive" weighing 307 kg.
The coffee was in the luggage compartment and the cabin of the car and was hidden from customs control under the front seats, covered with black cloth; on the back seat, covered with checkered bags; on the back decorative shelf, covered with cardboard. Other packs were in the luggage compartment of the vehicle and in a specially made cache in a structural cavity of the luggage compartment of the vehicle, which was fitted for illicit movement of goods, by removing the decorative paneling and the spare wheel.
The Ukraine citizen recognized the found goods as his property. Thus, the citizen committed acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially manufactured caches. These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the car "Audi A6" worth over 170,000 UAH and 307 kg of coffee "Tchibo Exclusive", the cost of which requires additional evaluation by an expert, were seized.
