Transcarpathian customs officers seized two cars because of forged documents and tampered body number

Yesterday, at the customs post "Vylok" of the Transcarpathian customs office, customs officers seized a SKODA OCTAVIA" with the Polish registration from a citizen of Ukraine. The reason is submission to the the customs authority documents containing false information.

The citizen of Ukraine decided to undergo customs control in the "green corridor". As a basis for moving the vehicle across the customs border of Ukraine, the citizen filed a certificate of vehicle registration and a power of attorney for operation of the vehicle.

During the customs control, while checking documents filed by the Ukrainian, customs officers had doubts as to the authenticity of the power of attorney for operation of the car.

As a result of analytical and search activities, the Transcarpathian customs office sent a request to the Polish notary in order to confirm or disprove the information about the authenticity of the document. In her response, the notary reported that she had not issued the document, that is it was forged.

Also, yesterday, a Hungarian citizen drove into the area of customs control by a vehicle "RENAULT" with Polish registration.

During the customs control of the car involving an expert, they found welding seams near the body number, and later it was found out that the part with the body number had not been welded at a factory.

Thus, the actions of the citizens of Ukraine and Hungary have signs of violation of customs regulations envisaged by Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

The total value of the cars is more than 80,000 UAH. The cars were seized until the court decision.
