Transcarpathian customs officers seized clothes, shoes and wine until the court decision (PHOTOS)

A Ukrainian tried to carry through the "green corridor" the goods which in that amount were subject to a written declaration and taxation. The citizen of Ukraine was coming back from Italy. To cross the border, he chose the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office, where he arrived by a car "MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 316 CDI" with Ukrainian registration.

Based on analysis and risk assessment, customs officers moved the vehicle to the "red corridor" for inspection and asked the citizen to fill in the customs declaration. In the declaration, our compatriot indicated his passport details and the presence of luggage with personal items – two travel bags.

During the customs control of the vehicle, in addition to the bags with the citizen’s personal belongings, customs officers found goods made in Italy and alcoholic beverages not listed in the customs declaration and not declared during the oral survey. In particular, they found Italian women’s and men’s trousers, women’s scarves, leather shoes, men’s shirts, women’s knit pants and women’s dresses, coats and jackets of various brands. In addition, customs officers found 5 liters of red wine "PUGLIA", 5 liters of white wine "PUGLIA", 10,5 liters of wine white "SAUBIGNON" and 4.5 liters of sparkling white wine "PROSECCO".

The value of the goods according to the prices listed on the product labels is more than 500 euros, and amounts to about 59,000 UAH. The determination of the value of the rest of the products requires additional evaluation with the assistance of experts. Thus, a citizen of Ukraine failed to provide accurate information about the goods being transported by him across the customs border of Ukraine, which in this amount are subject to a written declaration and taxation.

These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The report on violation of customs rules was made, and the goods were seized.

The citizen of Ukraine was allowed to move across the customs border alcoholic beverages in the amounts determined by the Customs Code of Ukraine, namely: 2 bottles of white wines "SAUBIGNON" by "COLLI PIACENTINI".
