Transcarpathian customs officers seized a large amount of amber from a Pole

Today, July 3, 2019, customs officers prevented illegal export of amber at the customs office "Solotvyno" of the Transcarpathian Customs.

An alien arrived at the checkpoint by a car BMW with Polish registration. The driver chose for customs control the "green corridor" lane, thus indicating that he was carrying objects that are not subject to compulsory written declaration or taxation with customs and other payments or fees and not subject to prohibitions or restrictions for transportation across the customs border of Ukraine.

Taking into account the risk system, the customs officers took the vehicle out of the general queue sending it to the box for in-depth inspection.

As a result of the inspection of the car, the customs officers found rough amber stones of various sizes, which were hidden from customs control in the gearbox and the double bottom of the car. 

Currently, a customs inspection and removal of the stones from the car is under way.
