Today, July 17, 2019, a minibus Mercedes-Benz driven by a citizen of Ukraine drove into the customs control zone of the customs post "Uzhgorod" of the Transcarpathian Customs. The citizen was going from the Czech Republic to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian chose the "green corridor" for customs control. Thus, the citizen stated that he was not transporting any goods subject to a written declaration, customs tax payments, prohibitions or restrictions on the importation into Ukraine.
During customs control, customs officers found 107 liters of light beer Gambrinus in 0.5 l cans. The beer was in the luggage compartment of the car.
The found goods belong to the first – twenty fourth group of the Harmonization Code System. Ukrainian customs legislation prohibits the import of such goods for free circulation. Citizens who have reached the age of 18 may import alcoholic beverages into the customs territory of Ukraine in luggage without paying customs duties and without a written declaration in amount of 5 liters of beer per person.
Thus, the citizen of Ukraine failed to indicate in the customs declaration accurate information about the goods being moved by him across the customs border of Ukraine, which in this amount are subject to a written declaration and restricted for transportation across the customs border of Ukraine. These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
At present, the report on violation of customs regulations has been drawn up, 5 liters of beer were allowed to be taken across the customs border of Ukraine, 102 liters were seized until the final court decision.
