Spying devices were confiscated at the customs post "Luzhanka"

Last night (01.09.20) at the customs post "Luzhanka" of the Transcarpathian customs, customs officers prvented an illegal attempt to import dual-use goods hidden from customs control, namely, spying devices that are restricted for import. When crossing the Ukrainian-Hungarian border in a car "MERCEDES BENZ" model "SPRINTER", a 37-year-old Ukrainian chose the "green corridor" in the customs control zone, thus declaring that he was not moving anything hidden or forbidden. However, according to preliminary information from the Security Service of Ukraine, the vehicle was transporting suspicious goods. Therefore, the minibus was taken out of the green corridor to the red one for customs inspection together with SBGS officers. As a result of the in-depth inspection of the vehicle luggage compartment, they found among the personal belongings of the driver two boxes with 15 items similar to ballpoint pens with a built-in microcamera and a USB-connector in a separate box each, namely: Business Portable Recorde 6 (4 pcs), Digital Video Recorder  (4 pcs), Business Portable Recorder 5 (1 pc) and gg#578 (6 pcs). Therefore, the actions of the resident of Kalush constitute a crime under Art. 201 of the CCU. The customs office has sent a report to law enforcement agency for a proper response. The goods were seized until all the circumstances are established.
