Transcarpathian customs officers confiscated psychotropic drugs from a Hungarian citizen

Transcarpathian customs officers confiscated psychotropic substances restricted for transportation. At the customs post "Vylok" of the Transcarpathian customs of the State Customs Service on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, 60 psychotropic drugs were confiscated from a Hungarian citizen. The Hungarian was going to Ukraine in a car Passat. During the oral interrogation, he assured the customs officers that he was not moving anything prohibited. However, customs officers doubted the words of the foreigner and inspected the car. In the luggage compartment, they found two packages of the foreign drug "Tramadol" in total amount of 60 tablets, which were in a bag among the personal belongings of the Hungarian. The foreigner stated that he had bought the drug in Hungary for his grandmother, who lives in Ukraine, and did not know about the psychotropic effects of the pills and that permits were needed to cross the border. According to the "List of goods subject to restrictions on transportation across the customs border of Ukraine", these drugs require a permit for the right of import (export) or transit of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or precursors. Therefore, under the Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, inspectors drew up against the citizen of Hungary a report on violation of customs rules. The found psychotropic drugs, which the foreigner tried to import violating the customs legislation, were confiscated.
