Transcarpathian company was fined UAH 88 thousand for electricity theft

The "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" PJSC informs that during the period from 18 to 22 of April this year, the company’s employees revealed 43 facts of electricity thefts.

In particular, 32 reports of violation were drawn up against household consumers and 11 reports – against legal entities (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.).

Most cases of illegal interference in the power grid among the household consumers over the past week were recorded in Mizhhirya district (6 violations). Most often, electricity was illegally consumed through damaging and removal of seals on metering devices (12 cases). 

In the legal sector (private entrepreneurs, companies, firms, etc.) facts of thefts were detected in 5 districts. The most violations were recorded in Mizhhirya and Vynohradiv districts (4 and 3 cases, respectively). Thus, the most popular violation was damaging metering devices (damage to the housing, broken glass, etc.), damaging and removal of energy supplier’s seals, and interference with metering devices to change their readings.

Also during the last week, Committees to review reports of violation imposed fines totaling UAH 299.37 thousand, of which:

– Among households – for 228.96 UAH;

– Among legal entities – for 70.41 UAH.

In addition, the Lviv Economic Court of Appeal these days decided to upheld the claims of the Company to one of the regional companies for damages caused to due to violation of the Rules by the consumer totaling UAH 88.2 thousand.
