Transcarpathian children will rest in Croatia – the head of the regional state administration and the honorary consul of this country have agreed on that

Today, August 15, the Head of the Regional State Administration, Igor Bondarenko, received the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia in the Western Region of Ukraine Vitaliy Zapukhlyak at his request.

The diplomat’s office will be located in Ivano-Frankivsk, so Igor Bondarenko suggested considering opening a representative office of Croatia in Uzhgorod too, since Transcarpathians frequently visit that country.

V. Zapukhlyak informed the head of the Regional State Administration about his plans for work, assuring that he was always in touch and ready to assist in the implementation of the Transcarpathians’ initiatives. He pointed out the common history, mentality, language of Ukrainians and Croats, implementation of joint projects, in particular the rehabilitation of children from Eastern Ukraine in Croatia.

– We are suggesting to include to your program the organization of rehabilitation of Transcarpathian children in this Balkan country, – Igor Bondarenko said. – We have many gifted children, from low-income, large families who need assistance from the regional authorities. Holidays at sea in Croatia will be a good opportunity for them to improve their health and see the culture of another country.

Vitaliy Zapukhlyak accepted the proposal and assured that he would make every effort to do that.
