Transcarpathian border guards told how they are fighting corruption

The anti-corruption week entitled "The border is not a place for corruption" is being conducted at the Mukachevo border guard detachment.

The press service of the detachment informs: the purpose is to prevent violations of anti-corruption legislation and the formation of conscientious, proper behavior of the border traffic participants.

During the week, at all checkpoints in the area of responsibility of the Mukachevo border guards detachment, flyers will be handed out to citizens crossing the border. The flyers contain information on the responsibility for offering and extortion of illegal benefit, as well as telephone numbers that can be called if a person has witnessed illegal activities at the border.

The main purpose of these measures is to remind that offering or extortion of bribes is a crime and entails criminal liability.

The main slogan of the week is "Let’s stop corruption together!" because corruption is a crime that leads to punishment, and in case of continued impunity – social and economic decline.

The leadership of the Mukachevo detachment ask all citizens not to violate the legislation of Ukraine and not to try to get officers of the State Border Guard Service involved in illegal activities by offering bribes for making unlawful decisions.

It is only through joint efforts that we are able to fight such a shameful phenomenon as corruption, the press service of the Mukachevo border guard detachment emphasizes.
