Transcarpathian border guards prevented the smuggling of 5,000 packs of cigarettes to Romania

Last night, as a result of the exchange of information between the border guards of Ukraine and Romania, they managed to prevent another attempt to smuggle 5,000 packs of cigarettes across the border.

While checking the information from Romanian colleagues about the alleged illegal activity, border guards of the "Solotvyno" department of the Mukachevo detachment found near the border 7 packages containing 10 boxes of cigarettes. The offenders planned to smuggle the cigarettes across the Tisa river, which forms the border with Romania, but realizing that they had been exposed, they were forced to leave the goods and run. At present, measures are being taken to identify persons involved in this offense.

The found tobacco products will be handed over to the SFS.
