Border guards found 1,352 packs of cigarettes in a car
This morning, another attempt to smuggle a large batch of tobacco products across the border was detected at the checkpoint "Tisa". A 26-year-old Bukovinian tried to transport cigarettes to the EU countries in the structural cavities of the car.
During the inspection of a Ukrainian-registered car Renault on the way out of Ukraine, border guards noticed changes in the interior of the car. Therefore, it was decided to inspect the vehicle in depth.
During the inspection, the border guards, together with customs officers, found a cache in the bottom. 1,352 packs of cigarettes of various brands with Ukrainian excise stamps were hidden under the front seats.
The value of the 2012 Renault seized by customs officers and the tobacco products hidden in it is currently being established.
