Transcarpathian border guard, who saved illegal migrants, has received an award

Senior Lieutenant T.Ya. Servylo received the award "For courage during protection of the state border."

On December 12 this year, the border guard officer rescued two foreign women, who were trying to illegally cross the border from Ukraine into Hungary. On that day Lt. Taras Servylo was heading one of the border patrols that was on duty in the "green" area of the state border.

During the search operation, border guards noticed two people, who began running towards the border across the Choronda canal, but fell through the ice and began to drown. The fugitives were two underage girls. Taras without hesitation rushed to their rescue.

Thanks to the bold, decisive and prudent actions of the border guard, the girls were rescued. As it turned out later, they were citizens of Vietnam seeking for better life in Europe.

The presentation of the award coincided with the 25th birthday of Taras. So, border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment, who are very proud of their colleague, also congratulated him on his birthday.
