“Transcarpathian Bears” won the Cup of Western Ukraine

On June 13-14, at the Ice Palace of the city of Kalush, there was the Ice Hockey Cup of Western Ukraine, which was attended by teams from Chernivtsi, Kalush, Uzhgorod, Lviv, Lutsk and Novoyavorivsk. Transcarpathia was represented by the Uzhgorod team "Transcarpathian Bears" (captain – Serhiy Kovach, coach – Andriy Maksimovich).

In the first game, our team confidently defeated the home team 10:2.   The team "Transcarpathian Bears" was the only team in the tournament that had to play two games in a row. Having put all strength in the game with Kalush, the Transcarpathians lost to the team from Lviv 5:3.

 Following the first day of the tournament, all the teams have the same number of points and an equal chance of winning. The next day, our team "Transcarpathian Bears" began with the match against the team of Chernivtsi, giving them no chance to win, and won with a score of 5:2. According to the results of all games, "Transcarpathian Bears" won the Ice Hockey Cup of Western Ukraine. The team of Kalush won the second place, the team of Chernivtsi – the third place. The participation in the tournament was made possible by the captain of the team "Transcarpathian Bears" Serhiy Kovach.

Incidentally, two years ago, on this same ice arena in Kalush, our "Transcarpathian Bears" also won the first place in the Ice Hockey Cup of Ukraine in the second division.
