From 29 to 30 of October, 2014, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomir Zaoralek stayed in Transcarpathia with working visit. As part of an official visit, he had an official meeting with the management of the region, where the Minister and the delegation of the Czech Republic with the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal, the Chairman of Regional Council Ivan Baloha and other officials of the region discussed prospects for cooperation.
As Vasil Hubal noted, welcoming the guest, Transcarpathian governments not only declares, but also guarantees transparency and openness in collaboration with foreign partners, residents of the region are open to relations in culture, the social sector and business. He reminded that the relations between Transcarpathian region and Vysocina region are an example of contacts between the two countries, and the regional council chairman said that every time the partnership with Czech friends proves that the action suits to the word. In particular, it is evidenced by the opening of Czech Visa Center in Uzhgorod, which will be held soon.
Lubomir Zaoralek said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic is focused primarily on humanitarian sector, particulary the support to projects in education, the cultural sphere. He added that the opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Uzhgorod would also help to establish contacts in business, and also noted that the Czech party had included into the delegation representatives of businesses that deal with new technologies in energy efficiency and heating.
It was energy efficiency projects that top officials of the region were talking about. The Chairman of the Regional Council Ivan Baloha stressed that Transcarpathia was interested in their implementation jointly with foreign partners and asked for help in these steps, that give tangible results for the region, and are now extremely topical for Ukraine.
The Head of the RSA Vasyl Hubal also expressed hope that the Czech experts would share their experiences in the forestry managment sector, because it needs to be reformed. Mr. Zaoralek informed that the Czech party would be waiting for detailed proposals and he was ready to submit these requests of Transcarpathians to the government.
After talking, the delegation of the Czech Republic and representatives of Transcarpathia and Uzhgorod visited monument to the person who is common for this country and our region – Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk – and laid flowers to the monument.
