Activists of the "Hiking Club" (Transcarpathia) put forward the idea of opening a photo exhibition on deforestation of Carpathian forests and its consequences (flood, landslide, erosion, etc.).
"The goal is to draw public attention and make it clear to the authorities that they must do something! Let’s form an initiative group and start thinking. For now, I am waiting for your ideas!" – he wrote
Orest Kohut, one of the initiators of the campaign.
Recall that the other day, photos of balding slopes of the Carpathians were posted online. In particular, the publication "Novoe Vremya" wrote about this problem.
Here are pictures of the southern slope of the Mt. Popadya at the border of Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. This area is within Bradul reserve of national importance. The pictures shows that the road to the mountain is covered with stumps.
