On May 6, the presidential candidate from the People’s Movement of Ukraine (Rukh) Vasyl Kuibida visited Transcarpathia. In Uzhgorod, the candidate met with journalists in the local press center, and with businessmen. In Mukachevo, Vasyl Kuibida met with Transcarpathian writers and party activists.
The meeting with voters in Transcarpathia was not widely announced. According to local activists, Vasyl Kuibida came to Transcarpathia, as before that he had had a meeting in Lviv.
At the press conference V.Kuibida talked about himself as the candidate from the Rukh and outlined the key messages of the campaign. In his comments to a representative of the OPORA V. Kuibida said that he had not noted any serious violations of electoral procedure. He expressed the hope that this election would be with a minimum number of violations. As for his vision of the election process, V.Kuibida spoke against the political advertising as such. "It would make elections much cheaper, and would allow to elect the President more objectively, not for a candidate’s image, but for their actual actions" – the politician summed up.
