Transcarpathia: the SFS employees seized excisable goods worth over 8 million hryvnia

During the first half of 2015, officers of operating units of the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region seized from illegal circulation UAH 8.1 million worth of excisable goods. In particular, alcohol – UAH 2.6 million; tobacco products – UAH 2.1 million; vehicles – UAH 1.75 million; alcoholic beverages – UAH 1.6 million; fuels and lubricants – UAH 310 thousand.

During January-June 2015, two clandestine workshops producing counterfeit alcoholic beverages were closed. Seven people were notified of being suspected of committing crimes under Art. 204 of the Criminal Code (illegal manufacture, possession, sale or transportation with intent to sell of excisable goods). The criminal proceedings against these persons were referred to court with indictments.

According to employees of the operational department, the tax police has clear areas of activities and works only to the extent permitted by law to prevent schemes and ways of illegal movement of excisable goods across the state border of Ukraine and their further circulation on the internal market.
