The deputy head of the Health Care Department of the RSA Tetyana Mitsyo informed about the provision of Transcarpathian region with vaccines.
"Now one of the most urgent issues of public epidemic safety in the region is the prevention of infectious diseases through vaccination," – the official says.
"Today in Transcarpathian region, we have an extremely critical situation regarding the provision of the region with immunobiological preparations purchased by the state for mandatory preventive vaccination of Transcarpathians" – Tetyana Mitsyo says.
She also noted that for several years there has been deterioration in the dynamics of provision of immunobiological preparations for Transcarpathian region. In particular, in 2010-2011, the provision was at 80-90% of the demand, in 2012 – at two-thirds, in 2013 – amounted to half, and in the last year, it was only 12.7%.
As of the beginning of 2015, the region has received immunobiological preparations at 1,751,400 UAH, that is 70,989 doses of immunobiological products, representing only 12.7% of the total need of the region in 2014.
"Due to the insufficient and interrupted supply of vaccines to the region from the SE "Ukrvaktsina" – Tetyana Mitsyo says – health facilities are unable to carry out the planned immunization of children under one year against tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus."
"This situation often becomes the cause of complaints to the managers of health care facilities in the region, the government "hot" line. Parents, who are concerned for the health of their children and have finances, buy immunobiological preparations for vaccination of children through pharmacies network of the region", – the deputy head of the Health Care Department of the RSA Tetyana Mitsyo says.
