Transcarpathia is trading with 105 countries

999 business entities in the region, including 379 enterprises and 620 individuals, are engaged in exports to 56 countries of the world, and 908 entities (378 and 530 respectively) are engaged in imports from 101 countries. This information was presented by the head of the Main Department of Statistics in Transcarpathian region Galina Grynyk on Tuesday at a press conference in the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. In general, we are carrying out foreign trade operations with 105 countries of the world.

Export of goods has grown. Thus, during the mentioned period, it amounted to 569.1 million U.S. dollars, which is one third more compared with last year’s period. As for imports, there is also an increase – 514.1 million U.S. dollars (by 29.5%). We mostly export to the neighboring countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Romania), as well as Germany and Austria. The largest amounts of import come also from the neighboring countries, as well as Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy.

For several years now, we have been exporting the same goods: machines, equipment and mechanisms; electrical equipment – 60.6% of total exports, textile materials and textiles make up 8%, wood and wood products – 7.6%. We also import predominantly machines, equipment and mechanisms; electrical equipment – 52.5% of the total volume of imports; followed by polymeric materials, plastics and articles made of them – 11.3%, and textiles and textile products – 8.5%. 

In four months of this year, the region received foreign customer raw materials at 393.4 million dollars, which is three quarters of the total volume of import to the region. Mostly, they come from the neighboring countries (21.4%), China (18.5%), Germany (11.5%), and Italy (8.9%), as well as Taiwan – the province of China (7.1%). This data was presented by Valeriy Onofriy, the deputy head of the Main Department of Statistics in Transcarpathian region. Mechanical and electrical equipment accounted for 61.6% of the total import of customer raw materials; plastics, polymer materials – 13.8%; textiles and textile products – 11%; non-precious metals and products made of them – 5%; raw hides, skins – 1.9%. And the volume of exports of finished products made of customer raw materials amounted to 457.7 million dollars, or 80.4% of the total exports.
