Transcarpathia is the leader among the regions of Ukraine in informing the public about the availability of free medicines (INFOGRAPHICS)

Transcarpathia the first in the top three leaders among the regions of Ukraine, which publish information on the available drugs purchased for budget funds in the most complete and regular way. The corresponding rating has been published by the nationwide online resource "ELIKY". The leaders, following Transcarpathian region, are Zhytomyr and Donetsk region. In Donetsk region, 92% of hospitals update the information weekly, in Zhytomyr region – 94%, in Transcarpathian region – 95%.
 The analytical sample included more than 1000 hospitals from 19 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv, which have been cooperating with the project "ELIKY" for a long time. Currently, 1101 hospitals from 21 regions are connected to the resource.
 Every year, the state allocates almost 6 billion hryvnias for the purchase of medicines at the national level. Almost as much money is spent on the purchase of medicines on the ground – from the regional, local and hospital budgets. However, patients often pay for their treatment, because they do not know that they can have drugs bought by the state. That is why it is imperative that the hospitals give the patients up-to-date information about the available medicines.
