In Transcarpathia, sixteen million hryvnia is provided in regional and local budgets for rehabilitation of children of privileged categories. This is half more than the actual expenditures for rehabilitation in 2016. However, the analysis of funding sources shows that the amounts of funds for rehabilitation increased only in the regional budget – UAH 10.6 million vs. 6 million allocated last year. Budgets of cities, regions and local communities in the region provide UAH 5.4 million, which is UAH 700 thousand less than in 2016. This was stated at the meeting dedicated to the organization of rehabilitation and recreation for children by the Deputy Director of Social Welfare of the Regional State Administration Natalia Omelyanyuk.
The reduction of planned expenditures compared with the actual expenditures in 2016 was committed by Uzhgorod, Svalyava, Vynogradiv district state administrations and Mukachevo City Executive Committee.
Beregovo, Velyky Berezny, Volovets, Khust district state administrations have not provided funds for rehabilitation of children for the second year in a row. There are no allocations for rehabilitation of children in Mukachevo district too.
"Some plans for rehabilitation of children just do not hold water. For example, in Mizhhirya district it is planned to provide rehabilitation for 11 children, in Vynogradiv and Rakhiv district – 45 and 49 respectively, in the city of Beregovo – 40. In the city of Chop, it is planned to allocate 45 thousand hryvnia for rehabilitation of 85 children", – N. Omelyanyuk said.
Overall, in Transcarpathia, there 145 centers for children recreation and rehabilitation.
