According to the State Statistics Service, Transcarpathian region ranks first in terms of rural population’s access to the Internet.
– The share of rural households in the region with access to the Internet at home is 57.8%, and this is the highest result in Ukraine, – Hennadiy Moskal says. – Kherson region is in the second place (52.7%), Chernivtsi region is in the third place (50.3%), and Sumy region is on the last place (11.6%). On average in Ukraine, 30.6 percent of rural population have access to the Internet at home. As for urban residents, the figures are much higher. The leaders are Ternopil region (which even surpassed Kyiv) – 86.0%, Kyiv – 81.2%, Chernivtsi – 76.5% and Transcarpathia – 76.4%.
The lowest access to the Internet at home among urban residents was recorded in Zhytomyr region – 50.9%.
Recall that Transcarpathian region has the highest share of the rural population in Ukraine – 63 percent.
