Transcarpathia has the highest prices

The Association of Suppliers of Trade Networks conducted an analysis of official statistics in August by the regions. Kyiv and Transcarpathian region have the highest cost of social food items. These regions together have more than half of the most expensive items out of the 31 in the list. This was reported by the general director of the Ukrainian Association of Suppliers of Trade Networks Oleksiy Doroshenko on his page on Facebook.

And the top 3 regions with the highest prices in August 2018 are as follows: the leader of the rating is Transcarpathia and the city of Kyiv, which have eight items with the highest prices among all. Odesa region ranks second with three items with the highest prices in the country. Volyn, Luhansk and Chernivtsi regions share the third place – two items from the social basket each.

The most expensive food items in Transcarpathian region are: wheat flour – 11.4 UAH per kilogram, while the average for Ukraine is 10.2 UAH; semola – 13.7 UAH per kilogram, average for Ukraine – 12.3 UAH; buckwheat – 22.1 UAH, average price – 17.6 UAH; peeled barley – 11.9 UAH, average price – 10.6 UAH; frozen fish – 77.2 UAH, average price – 70.3 UAH; sunflower oil – 36.3 UAH per liter, average price – 34.5 UAH; cabbage – 9.3 UAH, average price – 7.3 UAH; beet – 11.2 UAH per kilogram, average price – 7.1 UAH. Almost all the cereals are the most expensive in the westernmost region of Ukraine.
