Transcarpathia demands to send reinforcement and engage military reserves to strengthen the positions of our troops in Debaltseve

Representatives of local government – the Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko, mayors of district centers, chairmen of district councils – today adopted an appeal to the President of Ukraine, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of General Staff in which they urge the authorities to provide reinforcement and engage military reserves to strengthen the positions of our troops in Debaltseve.

"We, representatives of local authorities of Transcarpathian region, are deeply concerned about the situation in the ATO area about the Ukrainian military units, including the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade, staffed mainly with residents of Transcarpathian region, who are heroically defending the approaches to the city of Debaltseve. 

There is information that in this area there is a real threat of complete encirclement of our units, repetition of the Ilovaisk tragedy. 

We urge you to immediately intervene in the situation and immediately take all possible measures for prevention of entrapment of Ukrainian units to save the life of soldiers. We request to urgently provide reinforcement and engage military reserves to strengthen the positions. 

Remember that the highest value of the state is the life of every citizen, so any errors in the military management is crime against the Ukrainian people" – the statement says.
