June 29th, 2014, at 19.00, in the "Il’ko Gallery", there will be an exclusive
concert "Mozart and the era" performed by the winners of the D.Bortnyansky International Competition, the Ensemble of soloists under the direction of Olena Korolenko.
The program includes pieces by Antonio Salieri, Carl Friedrich Abel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
While planning the concert "Mozart and the era", the ensemble decided to recall works of great composers – Mozart’s contemporaries who were working alongside him, but whose achievements were somewhat overshadowed by the figure of the Austrian genius. The program of the concert on June 29 aims to provide the audience with works that are performed not as often as the works of the great Amadeus. First of all, it’s the music of the most famous and most enigmatic personality – Antonio Salieri, who taught Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt, Hummel, Mozart’s son, and many other famous musicians. The concert will feature two works by the composer: "Sinfonia Veneziana" and the Concerto for flute and oboe with orchestra. Also, the concert will feature works by Abel. German composer Carl Friedrich Abel was a friend of one of the Bach’s sons and the author of many symphonies, overtures, concertos, sonatas and comic operas. The concert program includes his most famous symphony in E flat major, which came to fame with the support of Mozart, who rewrote it for himself in educational purposes at the age of eight, and the Concerto for flute, oboe and strings in C major.
Mozart will also be played. At the end of the concert, the ensemble will perform a very original work – one of the funniest pieces of Mozart, "The village musicians sextet." The feature of this work is the use of dissonant harmonies, simulating out-of-tune, somewhat rough playing. In actuality, performing this piece is no easy task and requires, besides the mastery of instrument, an exceptional artistry of the performers.
The Ensemble of soloists under the direction of Olena Korolenko, which consists of a young talented youth of our region, at the concert "Mozart and the era" this time will also feature Lviv guest musicians – the winner of international competitions, associate professor of the Lviv National Musical Academy, virtuoso musician Andriy Karpyak (flute) and Andriy Huk (oboe).
It should be noted that almost all the works will be performed for the first time in our city.
