Border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment together with Romanian colleagues prevented an attempted smuggling of another batch of tobacco products across the border.
While patrolling the area adjacent to the border, border patrol of the department "Dilove" found on the bank of the Tisa river 4 packages of cigarettes. 1,820 packs of tobacco products were hidden 25 meters to the border line. A few minutes later, border guards’ sniffer dog found the tracks of the offenders who were trying to hide among the bushes. The two persons allegedly engaged in the smuggling of tobacco products to Romania turned out to be citizens of Ukraine. Reports of administrative violations were drawn up against the detainees. They will be judged in court.
Our border guards immediately informed the Romanian colleagues about the detention. As a result, opposite the place of detention, they found several packages of tobacco products.
