On November 9, the "Stanley Kubrick Cinema" invites to the screening of the documentary film "The Word House" (2017) directed by Taras Tomenko. This time, we are watching a movie in the library (Svoboda Ave., 16), – it is stated on the organization’s page.
In 1928, a building for the cultural figures of the Ukrainian SSR was erected in Kharkiv. Mykola Khvylyovy, Ostap Vyshnya, Mykhailo Semenko, Anatol Petrytsky, Antin Dyky and others were living under the same roof. The building with multi-room apartments, a laundry, a dining room, a kindergarten and even a solarium was supposed to become an oasis for artists, but the opposite happened. The intellectuals gathered in one place were repressed and killed. The "Word" House became the embodiment of the bloody Soviet system, and the residents of the house will later be called the generation of "executed renaissance".
The beginning is at 20.00. For everyone, who has this library reader card, the entrance is free. Those, who do not have one, can receive it there and take something to read.
