Through joint international efforts, special services shut down the “long way” to Europe via Transcarpathia

The joint working group of law enforcement agencies from Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland shut down an international group engaged in trafficking illegal migrants to European countries.

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine together with the State Border Guard Service and law enforcement agencies of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland stopped the activities of the international organized group, which specialized in illegal migration to European countries. Law enforcers found that out the group was made up of citizens of Ukraine, neighboring states, as well as countries of Central and Southeast Asia. The criminals organized a mechanism for the illegal transportation of immigrants from the countries of Southeast Asia to the EU. In Kyiv and Odessa, members of the gang formed groups of illegal migrants, who were then transported to Transcarpathia. Through a widespread network of so-called "guides", the offenders were taking migrants to European countries outside the designated checkpoints. Law enforcers documented thirteen episodes of illegal actions by organizers of illegal migration.
