Three people died in a terrible accident in Mukachevo district

At night, on October 27, near the village of Kolchyno in Mukachevo district in Transcarpathia, on the Kyiv-Chop highway, a minibus Renault Trafic and a truck Volvo collided, killing three people. This was reported by the National Police of the region.

The accident occurred around 1:00 am.

"As law enforcement officials found out, an 18-year-old driver of the Renault Trafic, moving in the direction of Svalyava, drove to the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided with a truck Volvo driven by a 49-year-old foreigner. As a result of the accident, the driver of the minibus, an 18-year-old resident of the city of Mukachevo, and his passenger, aged about 20, died on the spot. The latter is currently being identified by the police," – the statement reads.

The medical examination showed that the truck driver was sober.

Criminal proceeding over the incident has been initiated under Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules that led to the death of the victim). The investigator arranged for a number of examinations to determine the cause and circumstances of the accident.
