The XXIII International Hutsul Festival will be held of 2 – 4 of September in the city of Rakhiv.
Traditionally, the festival takes place in eight Hutsul districts of Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Transcarpathian regions, namely Putyla, Vyzhnytsia, Yaremcha, Nadvirna, Kolomyia, Kosiv and Rakhiv.
Rakhiv district will host the festival for the fourth time.
Amateur artistic groups of Hutsul land will be competing for the title on seven stages in several genres: song, music, theater, choreography.
In addition to art groups, each district will present an exhibition of folk artists to show the best achievements of the region in embroidery, wood carving and other genres of applied art.
It is also planned to hold a scientific conference to discuss issues of Hutsul land development.
According to Rakhiv district administration, during the International Festival, there will also be the XVI gastronomic festival-fair "Hutsul bryndzya" which is held in Rakhiv every year on the first Sunday of September. It is the is holiday of shepherds’ return home.
The festival shows the true traditions of Hutsuls – their life, craft, culture, hospitality and achievements.
