Prosecutor of Transcarpathia Volodymyr Korban at the press conference said that the Prosecutor General’s Office refocused their service and now "there is no concept of "indicators" to be compared with the data of the previous year." Also Volodymyr Korban explained that they dealt with coordination of all law enforcement agencies.
"The fight against corruption is a priority. So, this year, we have 50 criminal proceedings, mainly concerning bribes, receiving of undue benefits, 17 proceedings against 19 persons have already been forwarded to the court", – Korban informed.
Also, a lot of attention is paid to fight against non-payment of wages. "6 criminal proceedings are already in court, 450,000 UAH of debt have been repaid, the work continues, we are checking bankrupt companies, there are multimillion debts there, we hope that the results will be positive."
Volodymyr Korban, summing up the work of the agency for six months, reported: the percentage of criminal proceedings, sent to courts by Transcarpathian prosecution is the highest in the country, and the crime rate in the region is the lowest.
Such an investigation agency, as prosecutors will be abolished. Soon the State Bureau of Investigation will be created in Ukraine – the prosecutor added.
