This year, 7 new statutes of religious communities have been registered in Transcarpathia

The Department  of Nationalities and Religions of the RSA informed on the religion network in the region.

According to the department, there are 1801 religious organizations of 37 denominations, trends and directions in Transcarpathia, including 1700 religious communities, 61 monasteries, 6 religious schools, 8 missionary societies, 9 religious brotherhoods, 3 centers and 14 offices.

2054 priests work in the religious organizations, 82 of them are citizens of foreign countries. There are 1056 Sunday schools at religious communities.

Believers pray in 1580 religious buildings and premises adjusted for prayer houses.

In the first half of this year, by the order of the Head of the Regional State Administration, statutes of seven newly established religious communities have been registered. Of those, three are of Ukrainian Orthodox Church, two are of religious Greek Catholic communities, one is of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate and one is of the Methodist Church.

At the same time, the organization "Religious community of Seventh Day Adventists of the village of Barbovo in Mukachevo district" was eliminated.
