This year, 10 corrupt officials were fired, 26 suspects were removed from their posts

Since the beginning of the year, law enforcement agencies of the region initiated 70 criminal proceedings on corruption, in 39 proceedings, 41 people were notified of suspision – the head of the department of supervision over the observance of laws in the field of fighting corruption and procedural guidance in criminal proceedings concerning corruption Roman Orsah reported.

During ten months, 31 indictments against 33 persons, including 10 with pleas of ​​guilt, were sent to the court.  

Almost all indictments (28 of 31) for receiving improper advantage were sent to the court.

In the criminal proceedings, under Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, 31 persons were arrested, given the severity of the offenses (Part 3 and Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obtaining improper advantage), requests for a preventive measure in the form of detention against 22 persons were made in court. Preventive measure in the form of detention was imposed on 13 persons with the amount of bails totaling over 537,000 UAH, which was paid.

Also, preventive measure in the form of house arrest was imposed on 15 persons, personal pledge – on 6 persons, cash collateral totaling over 70,940 UAH – on 3 persons.  

This year 26 suspects were suspended from their posts, 10 were fired, in 5 cases (including one against a lawyer, and four against persons who. at the time of the crime, occupied temporary positions), the question of removal from posts was not raised.

Since the beginning of the year, the courts in the region have considered 18 indictments in criminal proceedings against 18 persons, and approved 9 agreements on recognition of guilt.

Upon court judgments, 10 people were sentenced to a conditional sentence, 4 – to fines, another 4 more were freed from criminal liability (2 due to probation, 1 due to changing of circumstances, and 1 due to effective confession).

Additional penalty – disqualification to hold positions or engage in certain activities – was imposed on 14 defendants.

Out of the total number of indictments considered by the court, seven are against law enforcement officers, including 5 with indictments, 2 were exempt from criminal liability.

Additional penalty of deprivation of special titles, category, rank was imposed on five persons for committing serious crimes.
