This week, the main theater of Transcarpathia will close the jubille season new a new production

On Sunday, July 10, at 18.00, Transcarpathian Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre closes the 70th theater season with a premiere – drama by Jean Cocteau "Orpheus and Euridice" staged by Oleksandr Sarkisyants.

Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) was a French director, actor, artist, writer, iconic figure of the European avant-garde in the first half of the twentieth century. In 1926, he wrote the play "Orpheus and Eurydice" based on the famous ancient myth, which is set in the present time. In 1950, he made the film version of the play "Orpheus" starring Jean Mare.

The director of the play Oleksandr Sarkisyant says that "Orpheus and Eurydice" is a story about us, about our feelings, the need for love, about the eternal mystery of love…

Before the performance, at 17.00, there will be a meeting with journalists, who will be told more about the premiere and the season in general.
