This Sunday, the best wedding traditions, customs and ceremonies will be recreated at the ethnic festival “Transcarpathian wedding”

The best wedding traditions, customs and festive ceremonies will be recreated in Transcarpathia this Sunday. On September 10, the region invites to the second colorful ethno-festival "Transcarpathian wedding".

The festival will unite two districts – Tyachiv and Mizhhirya. According to the organizers, the celebration will take place in several locations.    The wedding in the traditional Transcarpathian style, with ancient ceremonies (abduction, dance of the bride, removing of the wreath and treating of guests), will take place in Kolochava (Mizhhirya district), in the open-air museum "Old Village".

 Wedding traditions will not be the only thing that will entertain the guests during the ethno-festival. A concert of folk groups will take place on the music stage.

The highlight of this year’s festival "Transcarpathian Wedding" will be the determination of the district – the winner of the rating "Creation and preservation of the family" in the region. The statistics of the marriages concluded and terminated is currently being calculated by the specialists of the territorial department of justice. The district, which ranks first in the number of registered marriages and last in divorces, will receive a special prize – "Stone of Love" – ​​a piece of the Holy Land from the place where the first Christian wedding took place.
