This morning, an apartment burnt down in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

On August 23, at 06:10, the Rescue Service received a report of a fire in a nine-storey residential building on Zankovetska street in the city of Uzhgorod. This was reported by casual witnesses, who saw smoke and glow in a window on the third floor.

The crews of the 14th and 15th state fire and rescue units of the regional center rushed to the scene.

Firefighers arrived at the scene in 7 minutes. Because of the belated report, since the owners were not at home at the time, the apartment was completely engulfed by fire. 

At 06:28, the fire on the area of 12 square meters was contained, and at 07:35 it was eliminated.

During operation, the rescuers evacuated 12 people.

Nobody was killed or injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

5 units of special equipment and 17 personnel members were working at the scene.
