This January in lowland areas of Transcarpathia is the most snowy for the last 5 years

In particular, it concerns such districts, as Beregovo, Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, where usually winters are not that snowy.

– Now, we have a fairly significant amount of precipitation that is close or even exceeds the monthly rate for lowland area.  This is the most snowy January for the last 5 years and the total amount of snowfall throughout the region is close to the rate of many years, including severe winters of 1970-80’s – the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Centre for Hydrometeorology Vasyl Manivchuk said,

In the basins of Uzh and Latorytsya rivers, the amount of precipitation has reached 70% of the rate on the record. By the end of today and during the next day, meteorologists expect 25 mm of precipitation.
