“There will definitely be a trial, but wer must seek compromises” – the head of the Land Commission of Uzhgorod City Council Oleksandr Doktor

The land conflict in Uzhgorod has reached its climax.

Uzhgorod.in asked the chairman of the Land Commission of Uzhgorod City Council Oleksandr Doktor to comment on the situation.

"We understand how painful the issue of land in Uzhgorod is and so we quickly gathered together to find out all the circumstances of the conflict. We listened to both parties and unanimously decided to submit the issue to the session on September 20. This piece of land was sold at auction during the first term of Victor Pogorelov, but it was distributed by Serhiy Ratushniak. How can the situation progress? I think the case will be resolved in court, and our task is to find a compromise to satisfy all parties. As an option – to offer the developer another land plot elsewhere.

Recall, the confrontation between the city residents and the developer over the green zone on Dostoevsky street in Uzhgorod started on the last Monday. According to documents, two land plots were sold, a construction is already planned on one of them. Residents of nearby houses stopped it and put an encampment and a picket in the park.
