There were 12 of us… This many people gathered to discuss the pilot project for Vynogradiv

A large number of stray animals is an important problem in our city. Caring about the safety of the residents of Vynogradiv, the City Council approved the "Program for the treatment of stray animals and regulation of their population in Vynogradiv in 2016-2010", under which a project application for funding the establishment of cross-border stray animal control centers was developed jointly with the MU "Center for Investment and Development" as well as Polish animal protection organization in the city of Rzeszow, which is one of the leading organizations in Poland. The activities of this project will focus on the construction and material equipment of the municipal establishment, which will include the services for catching, sterilization, and identification (chipping) of stray animals.

Of course, those are just prospects. And now, the facts. Despite the public debate announced in the media, on the website of the City Council and in social networks, not many people gathered at the meeting to review the pilot project of the future of the stray animal control center.  There were 12 of us: a veterinarian, a journalist, a lawyer, members of the group in Facebook, deputies of the city council and their assistants, representatives of the municipality and the developer of the project.

So, the participants reviewed the general plan, made a number of suggestions that will be taken into account in the final draft. Particularly, it was decided to increase the number of enclosures and provide a separate premises for future workers of the services for catching stray animals.

Center with the total area of 179.95 square meters will be located on the outskirts of Vynogradiv – behind the treatment facilities on Leyzman street. Also, according to European standards, the Center will be providing services for veterinary surgery, dentistry, radiology.
