There is no epidemics of meningitis in Uzhgorod, but preventive measures are necessary

Uzhgorod doctors, in view of several cases of meningococcal disease, remind about preventive measures.

In Uzhgorod, 2 cases of meningococcal infection were recorded in 6th and 7th grade students, and 1 case of suspected acute bacterial meningitis in an 8th grade student.

As noted by the Head of the Health Department of Uzhgorod City Council Vasyl Reshetar, there is no epidemic in the city. Epidemiologic examination at the infected persons’ place of residence and the school, where they study, was promptly organized. Their lives are not in danger.

A set of preventive and disinfection measures, including restrictive measures, was introduced in the school.
