Theater festival “Monologs over Uzh” will be held in Uzhgorod (Announcement)

On September 22, in Uzhgorod, on the small stage of the Regional Music and Drama Theater, in the framework of the First International Theater Festival "Monologues over the Uzh", the Theater T1 (Lublin, Poland) with present the drama "Victim" (actor – Mateusz Novak)

The "Victim" will return us to the times of the Stalinist repressions in Poland. The protagonist will unfold before the audience the hard-to-reach world, that has already become a national myth, asking himself and us: "How to talk about the people, who existed once and whose fate is a warning to us? Should we engage in historical hagiography? It was committed by the Poles against the Poles. No one else. Always, the Poles against the Poles. The victim is all-comsuming fire."

Recall that, the First International Theater Festival "Monologues over the Uzh" will take place in Uzhgorod from September 22 to 25, 2018. The organizers of the festival were the Uzhgorod City Council and the newspaper "Nedilya Zakarpatski Novyny", with the support of the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

 The aim of the festival is to present contemporary forms of theater art to the audience, to support theater movement in Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia, to establish closer cultural and tourist connections between the twin cities by inviting theaters from abroad to participate in the festival.
