In Transcarpathia, the main gas supplier is accused of abusing a monopoly position
The National Commission for Regulating Energy and Utilities (NCREU), at its meeting on March 26, fined Khmelnytskgaz, Zakarpatgaz, Ivano-Frankivskgaz and Kharkivgaz. This was reported by the correspondent of the RBC-Ukraine.
According to the decision of the commission, each of the companies was fined for UAH 850 thousand. All of them were ordered to recalculate bills for all household consumers by April 5-8.
Recall that in the autumn of 2018, regional gas supply companies began to adjust the volume of natural gas for standard conditions for the implementation of commercial calculations. While doing that, the suppliers charge additional amounts for 30 months of the previous period. Charges are applied to consumers with and without gas meters.
The National Commission for Regulating Energy and Utilities decided to conduct unscheduled inspections of 20 gas distribution system operators.
Following the inspections, on March 22, the Commission fined Vinnytsiagaz, Volyngaz and Kyivoblgaz for UAH 850 thousand each.
