The Youth Council under the City Council was established in Uzhgorod

The constituent assembly took place yesterday in the big hall of the Uzhgorod City Council.

The young people – participants of the meeting – were greeted by the Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod Igor Fartushok. "I sincerely wish the newly created organization success and productive work. We have very active and ambitious young people, I invite you to join the activity of the Youth Council to work with the city authorities to effectively address the problems that concern young people in Uzhgorod. Submit your suggestions, take part in decision making, share experiences. Although the organization is advisory, I expect that it will significantly affect the activities of the city council," – Igor Fartushok said.

The participants of the meeting elected Olena Bilanina, a representative of the Be the Best NGO, as the chairperson of the Youth Council, Volodymyr Popovych, the head of the student government of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Uzhgorod National University, as her deputy, Anna Berdar, a representative of the scientific society of students, graduate students, doctors and young scientists of Uzhgorod National University, as the secretary.

The main tasks of the Youth Council of Uzhgorod will be to involve socially active youth in solving issues in the youth sphere, issues of socio-economic, cultural life of the community, consolidation of the youth movement in Uzhgorod, etc.
