On April 3, the 17th All-Ukrainian exhibition of decorative and applied art "The World of God is like Easter", which will last till April 21, was presented at the historical and cultural center "Owl’s Nest" in Uzhgorod. The regional center for the first time had the honor to host the exhibition of this level.
Therefore, the event was attended by the mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv, the Bishop of the Mukachevo Greek Catholic Diocese Milan Shashik, the first deputy chairman of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Mykola Kishchuk, the chairman of the Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Borys Kuzma.
It features works by 85 artists from nine regions: Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Volyn, Khmelnytsky, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kherson, Odessa and Transcarpathian. More than a hundred works in various techniques united by the theme of Easter. Icons and paintings in various techniques, sculptures, various Easter eggs, carved works and origami, stained-glass windows, leather, ceramics and glass goods, woven and embroidered works, dolls.
It’s great that Transcarpathia is very well represented, especially with ceramics. There are works by Miroslava Rosul and Vyacheslav Vinkovsky, Nata Popova, Yulia Egorova-Rogova, Andriana Kurutz, Oleksandr Sopilnyak, Oleksandr Dvorak from Irshava, plastic sculptures of Vasyl Sochka, works by Emma Levadska, Victoria Kuzma’s paintings, Vitaly Kinch’s carved icons and more.
Volodymyr Mykyta, People’s Artist of Ukraine, told us: "I like the exhibition very much." In turn, a guest, an artist from Germany, Arthur Klose, who is in Uzhgorod with an artistic mission, said: "There is everything here. It is very interesting. But Uzhgorod at the exhibition is just "wow".
