The works of 40 contemporary Ukrainian artists will be presented in Uzhgorod

On Friday, April 25, at the art center "Ilko Gallery", there will be the presentation of the project "Velyky Pereviz. Residence". The exhibition will feature works of 40 contemporary Ukrainian artists including Anatoliy Kryvolap, Oleksiy Markytan, Victor Pokydanets, Vlada Ralko, Volodymyr Budnikov, Tiberiy Silvashi and others.

"Velyky Pereviz. Residence" is a part of the art project by Tamara Babak and Yuriy Oslamovsky. Starting from 1989, creative retreats for contemporary Ukrainian artists have been held in the private mansion of known Ukrainian artists Oleksandr and Tamara Babak in the village of Velyky Pereviz in Poltava region. In 2010, Mrs. Tamara launched the project, which attracted new creative forces – young Ukrainian artists – to these creative meditations, the Zaholovok reported.

In the art center "Ilko Gallery", they will present paintings by famous Ukrainian artists who have visited Velyky Pereviz, and of young Ukrainian artists that represent the art of the 2000s. Thus, Transcarpathia in the project will be represented by Ruslan Tremba, Beata Korn, Victor Melnychuk, Ivan Nebesnyk and Vladislav Gabda.

According to the organizer of the exhibition, Taras Tabaka, the exhibition will become a creative bridge between Uzhgorod and Kyiv. "Viewers will be able to see different schools and techniques of modern Ukrainian art, which have not yet been presented in Uzhgorod on this scale", – Mr. Taras said.

Simultaneously, a solo exhibition of Oleksandr Babak will open on the ground floor of the art center. This is the first exhibition of the famous Ukrainian artist, who works in various genres of monumental painting, in Transcarpathia.
