The open fencing competition "Cup of Mukachevo" among boys and girls took place in Mukachevo for the second time. During two days, representatives of Kyiv, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Uzhgorod and Mukachevo – in total about 100 athletes – were competing in the hall of the Mukachevo Youth Sports School.
Recall that the first day of the competition symbolically coincided with the World Day of Fencing, and the final matches were held in the very center of Mukachevo, near the City Hall.
The next day, competitions among boys in two age groups – born in 2004-2005 and in 2006-2007 – took place.
Gold medal of the younger age group goes to Kyiv – Kostyantin Molokanov (coach – Shostaksky) won the first place defeating Myron Durnevich (coach – Fill) from Uzhgorod. The bronze medals were shared by representatives of Kyiv – Illya Kabatsiy (coaches – Symonenko, Tymo) and Svyatoslav Orlovsky (coach – Simanhaus, Gorin).
Volodymyr Kurhan from Khmelnytsky (coaches – Svidnytsky, Kovryzhenko) won gold medal in the category of boys born 2004-2005, defeating in the final Ivan Dumnitsky (coach – Petrus) from Uzhgorod, who received silver medal. Veleslav Popovich from Uzhgorod (coach – Petrus) and Tymofiy Kryzhanivsky (coaches – Mazur, Kostyuchenko) won bronze medals.
All top eight athletes were awarded with honorary prizes and souvenirs.
