The National Commission for State Regulation in Energy and Utilities has increased volumes of electricity consumption under the lowest tariff for households that use electric heating devices.
This is stated in the resolution of the NCREU dd. October 23, 2014 № 164 "On approval of Amendments to the Tariffs for electricity sold to the population", which entered into force on November 18, the press service of the Commission informed.
"The said resolution was adopted due to the difficult economic situation in the country and to take measures to conserve natural gas and promote its replacement," – the statement reads.
By its decision, the Commission increased the volume of electricity consumption for the population living in houses (apartments), equipped with electric heating devices according to the established procedure, from 3600 to 5000 kWh.
"For this category of population, the lowest electricity tariff is applied – 23.7 kopiykas per 1 kWh. This rate is valid during the heating season from October 1 to April 30," – the press service informed.
Thus, the decision of the NCREU helps to encourage residential customers to install electric heating devices instead of those that work on natural gas and, in case of reduction of gas resources, it will help to meet the needs of customers in domestic heating.
