The mayor’s office reported: today, at the meeting of one of the City Council factions, during the discussion on tomorrow’s session, it was decided to withdraw the draft decision "On amendments to the Regulations" from the agenda. The faction members voted fro this decision unanimously. The commission on law and order, the Regulations and ethics chaired by Mykhailo Bulyna excluded the draft decision № 1163 "On amendments to the Regulations" from consideration at the session. The Mayor Victor Pogorelov will not submit this issue for consideration at the session – the statement said.
Uzhgorod.in reminds: at the "revolutionary" session on December 2, under public pressure, the city council changed its regulations by declassifying results of voting. Prior to that only the mayor could have seen how the deputies voted. Now this information is open to the public, the results of roll-call votes are to be published on the website of the City Council. By the way, this is how they voted for this decision.
The current events are likely caused by the attention of the community and above all the media to this issue. Probably, the deputies and the mayor decided not to provoke fierce criticism and opposition that a revision of the regulations would have caused. Congratulations on your wise decision. And the community of Uzhgorod – on the victory! Hopefully not the last one… And, of course, we a waiting for the publication of roll-call votes on all important issues for the city after tomorrow’s session.
